The Dutch Lily Days!

The first edition of Dutch Lily Days will be repeated. This event for lily hybridizers and exporters is programmed for Tuesday May 22th through Friday May 25th 2012. The format has not been changed. Like in 2011, all companies join hands and will simultaneously open their doors to welcome visitors during the Dutch Lily Days. This year sixteen companies will participate.

The 2011 experiment to concentrate and have all ‘open houses’ in one week did receive a lot of responce from visitors and people involved. These responces and reactions have been implemented in the 2012 Dutch Lily Days. The Dutch Lily Days is originized from different points of view. Initially, it will help (inter)national visitors to visit hybridizers and exporters in a single trip. Secondly, it will stimulate the promotion of the Lily in the Netherlands as well as abroad. This initiative has stimulated several professional and non-related magazines to highlight the cultivation of lilies and the flower in general. For participants this week is an important event to secure and maintain the position of the Netherlands as main producer and export-er of flowers.

During the Dutch Lily Days the participating companies will present their assortments and novelties in their own test greenhouses and facilities.

Last years’ success has resulted in an increase of participants. Laan Flora Facilities has joined the list of companies which includes: Van den Bos Flowerbulbs, De Jong Lelies, Bot Flower- bulbs, Lily Company, Mak Breeding, Mark- lily, Onings Holland Flowerbulbs, The Originals, C. Steenvoorden, G.A. Verdegaal, Gebr. Vletter & Den Haan, VWS Flowerbulbs, World Breeding, Zabo Plant and Royal Van Zanten.
